If you don't already know, I'm a challenger! Recently, I've been pushing the limits and gaining confidence in myself. This is my newest challenge. Standing with no hands! IT'S SO FUN!!!

AT THE BEACH!

Mommy and daddy took me to the beach today! I've been a couple of times when I was younger, but didn't like it at all! The water was really warm today and daddy took me way out to the deep end. Mommy and daddy love the ocean and they want me to love the ocean too. Guess what?

MY FIRST TEETH

It's OFFICIAL! I LOST MY FIRST TEETH YESTERDAY! And that's not a spelling mistake. I lost 2 teeth yesterday. Last night, I put my teeth under my pillow hoping that the tooth fairy would come and leave me some money, but daddy said that "since we live in Japan, I'm not sure if the tooth fairy will come all the way from Hawai'i just to bring you a little money". I tried anyway and guess what? NO MONEY! Instead, the tooth fairy left me a new OVEN RANGE/MICROWAVE! BORING! I'm gonna try again tonight!

MY FIRST REAL HAIRCUT

Well, I finally got my first REAL haircut. Up until this point, my mommy's been cutting my hair and let me tell you, she's not very good at it. Hairstylists run in my mommy's family though. Grandma and grandpa are hairstylists and have their own shop in Niigata. Mommy's sister also cuts hair and she cut mine a while ago. But that's where the talent stops. Mommy didn't inherit a drop of that skill. Last week we went to Niigata to visit my JIJI and BABA. While we were there, BABA gave me a real haircut. It was a little short at first, but it's grown out nicely since...THANK YOU BABA! I LOVE MY HAIRCUT!

EXCURSION

I had my first school excursion a couple of weeks ago. It was really fun! We went to Kamogawa Seaworld. I've been there a few times before, but never with my classmates so it was kinda special. This photo is of me with my newest friend, Mr. Penguin. I think he's a Mr. anyway...

TODAY'S MY BIRTHDAY!

Yay! Today's my birthday! I'm 5 years old now! Yatta ze! I already had my party last Sunday, so I want to thank mommy and daddy for the yummy cake, bathtub toys, ( I think daddy wanted them more ), Aunty Shary and SL8R for the bunny, which I named CHAPPY, and all the other gifts they sent me. Now that I'm 5, daddy said I can start sleeping later if I want to. No thanks daddy. I like waking up at 4 am. hehehe!

OHINASAMA

Today is OHINASAMA! These are my dolls that I put out every year. These were hand made and expensive. I'm not allowed to even touch them.

PRESENTS

Last Monday I had to spend the night in the hospital to get my immune system powered up. It's not so fun because my veins are hard to find, and it usually takes a couple of times for the doctors to find a good one. While I was there, mommy and daddy went on their Valentine's day date! They bought me some new clothes too! YAY! I even got a new neck pillow. Actually it was daddy's, but I stole it from him. hahaha.

Me and mommy set-up our OHINASAMA dolls the other day. It's a Japanese tradition to put these dolls out to celebrate GIRLS DAY. Girls all across Japan showcase their dolls until the end of Girls Day, March 3rd. These are my dolls.

PAINTING

Daddy brought home some water color paints for me yesterday! YaY! I've been doing some painting at school, and daddy wanted to see me in action. Me and mommy had a really fun time. She even put some paint on my face.

HELLO

Hi everybody! Just another day at home. I'm feeling really good and starting to get fat again. YEA! It's so nice to be home. I can ride my little car around, watch my favorite cartoons, go to school...

PRE SCHOOL TODAY

I went to pre school today. I usually go once a week to a special needs school. I haven't been since I got sick in December, so it was really nice to see the teachers and my friend. Today we did some painting. It was so much fun!

I'M HOME!

HELLO EVERYONE! I'm home from my 3 week stay at the hospital. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR GOOD THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR ME! The first couple of days were pretty rough as I had pneumonia AND swine flu. Also, I was on a new type of ventilator that ended up putting some ugly cuts on my face. You should've seen daddy questioning the doctors about it.
Anyway, it's good to be home and relax away from the nurses and doctors. I slept for almost 12 hours last night! This stay in the hospital, was my 5th away from home for Christmas. So, we decided to have Christmas a week early every year! YAY!

OMAMORI=LUCKY CHARM

Thanks to my Uncle Ken and his daughter Kaho for the nice gift from a local shrine in Kamogawa/Amatsu. They went to pray for the new year, and while they were there, they thought of me and my poor health and got me this OMAMORI, or lucky charm. Thank you so much! My daddy says that people who do nice things like this are very special. Thanks uncle Ken and Kaho chan!

My daddy told me that everyone is praying for my speedy recovery from this flu virus. I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all that they're doing. I'm having another Christmas in the hospital, but I know there are kids out there who aren't having a Christmas. My prayers go out to all of them. I think I'll be in here for a while, so I had daddy take a video of one of my presents. This is my gift to all of you! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

ME AND MY FRIEND

I finally got the courage to go out and get a photo taken with the reindeer outside of my house. He was really nice and let me hold onto his hand. I was kinda scared and cried a little, but daddy was there too make sure I'd be OK.

I have a new winter friend that lives on the grass in front of my house! He'll be around until the New Year. If you want to come and see him, he's always here.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Mommy and daddy had a Halloween party last night. Lots of my friends came over and we played games and stuff all night! I was up until 10 o'clock! It was soooo much fun!

STANDING

This is something I've been doing a lot of lately. Anywhere I can find to pull myself up at. My goal is to walk someday and with a lot of practice, I know I can do it!

BLOG UPDATE

Thanks daddy for helping me with my blog today. It's been a while since I've updated my blog. Sorry. I've been really busy with physical therapy and I also started going to pre school once a week. It's really fun! We finger paint and sing songs and stuff. I can't wait to go to a big school.

FIREWORKS

Daddy came home from work tonight and I was still awake. He bought some fireworks for me so we all went outside and had some fun. It was my first time to enjoy fireworks and it was really exciting! Thanks daddy!
