Aloha everyone. My name is Mahina and I was born with various handicaps which include being hearing impaired, speech impaired, inability to walk, heart, kidney and lung abnormalities, all stemming from an inverted #6 chromosome. Since the day I was born in 2005, I've started to overcome my disabilities day by day to the amazement of my physicians, family and friends. Although I have a long way to go, it's the little steps that make each big step. With help from my loving parents, we will start to document my daily lifestyle, good, along with the bad.
Welcome to THE BELOVED MOONLIGHT

MOMMY AND DADDY'S DAY

I thought today was just an ordinary day. I was playing with my toys in the morning...

...then I thought we were going for a drive. I didn't see the wetsuits in the back though.

They dropped me off at the baby sitters and went surfing. I guess it's OK though. They were celebrating their 6th wedding anniversary!

BEACH DAY

We took a short trip to the beach today to watch daddy surfing. Me and mommy hung out in the car and mommy took some pictures of daddy and his friends. It was a really nice day.

WHERE ARE WE GOING ?

We got in the car this morning and no one would tell me where we were going.

It seemed like we were driving for hours. When your my age, a 90 minute drive seems like forever. Then we finally arrived. Costco? Boring...

It was really crowded as usual, but daddy used his muscle to get us through the madness.

Look at all the crap we bought. If you've ever been to Costco, you probably know how much a basket filled with stuff costs. I think it was like a million dollars!

The cool thing is that I always get something really cute for tagging along.

BABY FENCE

Not that I'm a baby or anything but I got a new fence today. Last summer, I drove my little car off the edge and got a HUGE bump on my head. So, mommy and daddy bought me this fence to keep me safe. It also opens up the house more and I can ride into another room of the house.

I KNOW

You don't have to tell me because mommy always says that being too close to the TV is bad for you eyes.  I just really like looking at my reflection. I guess you can say it's one of my hobbies.

EXERCISE TIME

Every morning I spend about an hour or so scooting around on my little car. It's so much fun. I like to drive up to the coffee table and pick things up and throw them on the floor. Daddy says I'm a butt head, but I really enjoy doing it. I can't help myself. I also like staring into the TV and looking at my reflection when mommy's watching the morning finance report. I guess I am a little butt head.

PLAY TIME

One of the things I love the most is riding my car around the house. Recently, I've been getting to ride outside since the weather is starting to warm up. Mommy is always there to make sure I don't go past the edge.

My daddy bought a new toy today. He was outside all day cutting the grass around our neighborhood. He's so cool.

MY FRIENDS

この写真は友達と私です。毎日楽しく遊んでいます。たまに怒っちゃった時投げちゃうけど、やっぱり大好きだからすぐ仲直りして遊びます。
This is a picture of me and my friends. We hang out together everyday and have fun. Sometimes I get angry at them and throw them on the floor, but I don't think they mind. They always keep coming back.

11:40 PM

It's 11:40 at night and I can't sleep. Daddy is watching surfing on the internet and mommy is watching finance news. It's a typical night in the Yamaya house.

HELLO, ALOHA, こんにちは

Hello everyone, my name is MAHINA KE ALOHA which means THE BELOVED MOONLIGHT in Hawaiian.
I'm 4 years old and live in Kamogawa with my mommy and daddy.
I have tons of free time and I really like riding my little car around the house and outside.

When I'm not out and about, I hang out in my extra large custom made bed. I have lots of toys and friends, and we have puppet shows too sometimes.

I hope you enjoy my blog and feel free to leave a comment in English, Japanese or your other language.
bye bye...
