EDチューブからNGチューブへ　　　初詣

今までの腸まで入っていたEDチューブから、胃までのNGチューブに変える事が出来ました。注入時間を早くする事が出来るので、自由な時間が長くなり嬉しいです。チューブを入れ変える事もED チューブは、病院でレントゲンを見ながら先生が入れなければならなかったけど、NGチューブは家でパパが入れる事ができ、とても楽になりました。
清澄寺に家族皆で初詣に行きました。おみくじを引いたら小吉でした。神様には、四月からタンポポ組を卒業して小学校に通います。たくさん友達ができて、楽しく学校生活が出来ます様にとお願いしました。

A lot of changes happening. My old feeding tube has been replaced by an easier one to manage. My old tube went way down into my intestines and made feeding very slow. I've been taking medication to reduce my stomach acids and it's working! Now my tube is much shorter, goes into my stomach and make feeding time shorter. More time to play! YAY! Daddy also was taught how to change it. He has magic hands. Things will be changing as I'm starting elementary school in April. The doctors are all doing their best to make sure I'm comfortable there.
We also made a visit to the local temple to make our wishes for the new year.

鼻水は、まだタラタラだけど退院しました。病院の狭いベットから、やっと脱出できて嬉しい！

やっとビーチに遊びに来ました。風があり少し寒かったけど、新しく買った黄色の浮き輪に乗りたかったので、海に入りました。波にゆらゆらされて、楽しかった！ビーチでの砂遊びも初めてで不思議！今度は砂のお城作ろうねって、パパが言ってくれました。アロハ

I went to the beach with mommy and daddy! The wind was a little cold at first but I got used to it quickly. There were also some big waves so it was really fun bobbing up and down in my new innertube. I also played in the sand. Next time, daddy and me are going to make a sand castle!

新潟へ

ジージとバーバに会う為に、新潟へ行きました。１年ぶりなので皆とても楽しみにしていました。
ご先祖様のお墓参りに行き、な〜む〜。家の近くの大平森林公園へお散歩に行った帰り道、手作りのアイスクリーム屋さんでチーズケーキアイスクリームを食べました。
ジージとバーバは、理容店を経営しています。バーバに夏に向けてベリーショートに髪を切ってもらいました。男の子に間違えられない様に、後でリボン付けてね。
新潟から鴨川まで五時間ちょっとのロングドライブは疲れた〜。家に着いたら、バタンキューでした。とても楽しかったです。

今日はトヨタに車を見に行き、風船を貰いました。マヒちゃん、凄く喜んで遊びまくり、お昼寝もせず、夜も風船が気になり、なかなか眠れず風船を隠してし、やっと寝ました。ハッスルしまくりだったので、口を開け白目で爆睡してます。その顔は凄いものでお見せする事が出来ないので想像して下さい。

パワーアップ

昨日、抵抗力アップのガンマーヘモグロビン投与の為、二ヶ月おきの一泊入院に行きました。最近は分かるのか小児病棟に入ると不安そうな顔になります。マヒちゃんの血管は糸の様に細くラインを採るのが凄く難しく、何度も刺し直す事があるから、大泣きして汗だくになります。チクン頑張ってね!!って、ギュッとマヒちゃんを抱きしめて、先生と看護婦さんにお願いして、今日はパパとママはデートです。勝浦のブルーベリーヒルにあるテルムマランパシフィークのスパに行きました。温海水プールで、リラックス効果の高い不感温度33~36度に暖めた多機能プールがあり、リラックスできて、とても気持ちの良い一時を過ごす事が出来ました。いつもマヒちゃんは朝早くて4時か5時に起きてしまうので、今夜はママ
、ぐっすり、いっぱい寝てママもパワーアップするぞ〜！
It's that time again. I have to spend a day in the hospital to have additives put into my blood. I have a low immune system so I need to do this every 2 months. While I'm here, it gives mommy some time to power up too. She's always so busy taking care of me and needs to have break sometimes. Daddy took her to a spa up the coast where they use 60% of ocean water in their heated pool. They had a fun time and got to relax...

昨日はとても暖かかったので、初めてデッキで歩行器に乗ってみました。日差しや風が心地よくマヒちゃんはキャッキャキャッキャ大はしゃぎでした。でも、ママは花粉症で目のかゆみと鼻水で泣いてました。家と違ってデッキは広くて楽しいから、花粉症が大変でも、またお天気の良い日はデッキで遊ぼうね、ママ。
It was a warm day today and mommy and me went out onto the deck for some afternoon sunshine. I was so happy! I can't wait until it's warm everyday! Too bad for mommy though. She has terrible allergies in the spring time. She can't wait for the end of spring.

パパの仕事がある日は行く前の午前中にお風呂に入れてもらうが、昨日はパパの歯が痛くなり歯医者さんに行ったので、夕方ママが入れてくれました。パパ抱っこで入る方が楽しいなー。

先週、パパが水中カメラでサーファー達を撮っていて、知らない二人だったが、凄く楽しそうに波乗している良い写真が撮れたので、ブログに載せたところ、Mellow'sというバンドのTsutomuさんとNoriさんで、良い記念になり有り難うと、パパがグレイスのライダーという事で、二人が作詞作曲したCDがグレイスサーフショップに届きました。いっぱい、いっぱいマヒナに聞かせますね。暖かくなったらマヒナもビーチに遊びに行くので、会えたら良いですね！サプライズプレゼント、本当に嬉しいです。有り難うございました。

補聴器

今日の午前中、たんぽぽに行ってきました。たんぽぽに行くと、補聴器を付けます。おりこうさんに付けててはくれず、違和感からか直ぐ取ってしまうので、何度も付け直して大変です。たんぽぽの今月の歌は、おひな様です。後、いつもアンパンマン体操をします。今日も楽しかったです。

雪だるまとトナカイ

先週の連休、パパは長野の友達の家に行き、スノーボードとアルコール三昧で楽しんできました。ママのリクエストで小さくて良いからマヒちゃんに雪だるまを作って写メールで送ってと頼んだら、ジェームスと、こんなに大きな雪だるまを作ってくれました。外国の雪だるまは三段なんだって。
こんなに可愛いトナカイが、ふとした道ばたにあるんだって。
Daddy went to Nagano for a snowboard trip with some of his friends and mommy had one request. "Please make a snowman for Mahina". Uncle James and daddy did just that and it was much bigger than we expected. THANKS!

ANOTHER TOOTH

下の歯がグラグラしていて、抜けた歯が喉に詰まったりしたら大変なので、歯科で抜いてもらおうと予約をしていたのですが、歯科が総合病院の中にあり、インフルエンザや胃腸炎が流行っていて、抵抗力の無いマヒちゃんは移りやすいので、キャンセルをしたのですが、いつ抜けるかな〜っと心配だったのですが、今日抜けました。マヒちゃんは泣きもせず、出血も少しで良かった〜。でも心臓の弱い子は、抜けたところから、ばい菌が入ると重傷になることがあるので三日間抗生物質の薬を飲みます。抗生物質を飲むとウンチがゆるくなってしまい、そうでなくてもゆるくて回数が多いのに大変な事になりそうです。歯が抜けるだけで大変........下の歯だから屋根に投げよう!　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　I lost another tooth today! YAY! This one has been loose for a while and today when daddy and I were taking a bath, he pulled it out! I didn't even cry. Actually, I LAUGHED! HAHAHA! What will the tooth fairy bring me this time? I've gotten money and a new oven range/microwave....Maybe I'll get a new car!?

苺の先をスプーンで潰して出てきた果汁をなめています。今が旬だから凄く甘くて美味しく、たくさんペロペロしてくれました。でも前にリンゴをなめていたら、小さなかけらが入ってしまい、ゴックンが出来ないマヒちゃんは、ごえんして、肺炎になり入院してしまった事があるので、十分気をつけてあげなければなりません。苺も好きだけど、カスタードクレームも大好きです。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　One of my favorite things to taste are strawberries! They're so delicious.Especially in Japan. When you walk into the grocery store, you can smell them right away! YUMMY!

MY UNCLES

日曜日、パパと一緒に働いているアンクルジェームスと義肢装具を作っているアンクルしんやが遊びにきました。マヒちゃんはブッブブーに乗って股をぐぐるのが大好きで、いつもパパとママの股をトンネル代わりにして遊んでいるが、アンクルジェームスは足が長く、今日は大きなトンネルだな〜っとビックリしてました。アンクルしんやは、いつも歩く練習をしたりして遊んでくれます。TIKIの置物とはちみつは、この前、ジェームスの出身地ニュージーランドに行った時のお土産です。アンクルジェームス.アンクルしんや、お土産そして、いつも遊んでくれて有り難うね。
My uncles came over to hang out and talk with daddy. Uncle James is really tall and can make bigger tunnels than mommy or daddy. I was having lots of fun in the big tunnel. Also uncle Shinya came over again and did some walking practice with me around the house and up and down the stairs. They recently went to New Zealand for a short trip and brought back these gifts for us. Manuka honey and a fertility tiki. Thanks for thinking of us while on your trip!

GIRLS FESTIVAL

7日は大安なので、おひな様を出しました。小黒三郎の組木円びな五段おひな様で、とても可愛いし、コンパクトにしまえて良いですよ。
Mahina and mom put out their dolls for the girls festival on March 3rd. There are special days to put them out for display, and yesterday was one of those days.

マヒちゃんのお尻

経管栄養だからか、普段からウンチがゆるく回数も多いのに、最近は寒いせいか、もっと回数が増えてお尻がただれ、お湯で洗い亜鉛華軟膏が欠かせません。お見せする事は出来ませんが、マヒちゃんのお尻がおさるさんの様に真っ赤っか..........今日のニュースでインフルエンザが警告レベルになったと言ってました。怖~~~。早く春が来てほしいです。
Trying to find Mahina's ideal amount of daily food intake always depends on the weather and time of year. For example, it's winter now and her food gets cold quicker than in warmer months so we need to control her intake speed accordingly. Why? Like with us, we can get an upset stomach easily when eating too quickly or eating cold things. And with an upset stomach comes...POO. Keeping her food warm over night becomes challenging as well. Mommy's always waking up to check her food temperature and making sure her pants are clean. This is also the season for viruses to spread and since Mahina's immune system is at only 10 percent we need to take extra care. Today's news says that influenza is on the rise in Japan and we must take precautions by telling everyone about it. Wash your hands and gargle! All day, everyday!

豆まき THROWING BEANS

今日は節分。マヒちゃんとパパが、鬼のお面をかぶり、豆まきをしました。鬼は〜外、福は〜内。
数え歳の分だけ、豆を食べると言う事で、マヒちゃんは六粒。食べる真似だけしました。パパとママが何粒食べたかは、秘密だそうです。
Today is Setsubun. Mahina and daddy are being the ogres. Daddy threw the dried beans out from the house saying "ONI WA SOTO" (ogres out) then into the house saying "FUKU WA UCHI" (happiness in). We have to eat as many beans as we will be in age this year. I have 6 beans and mommy and daddy have ??? beans.

お風呂大好き/MAHINA LOVES BATHTIME

マヒちゃんは、お風呂が大好きです。いつもカゴいっぱいのオモチャを浴槽の中に入れて遊びます。一人で上手に座っている様に見えますが、パパが足で必死に支えていて、いつもはパパだっこで入っています。パパがいなくてママが一人の時は、一緒に入るのは大変なので、浴槽に子供用介護バスチェアーを入れて入っています。バスチェアーでのお風呂の様子も、今度お見せしますね。
Mahina absolutely loves her bath time. She has a basket FULL of toys that she likes playing with. This photo is kind of misleading as daddy is actually holding Mahina with his feet. When mommy gives a bath, it's been quite difficult until recently. We got her a new bath chair and it works great. Next time we'll post a photo...

バランスボールBALANCE BALL

バランスボールに乗って、ゆらゆらするのが大好きです。リハビリで教えてもらい、家でもやってます!マヒちゃんは、抵抗力が弱く、今の時期は病院に行くのは怖いので、リハビリをお休みしているけど、春になったら、また頑張ります。

着膨れ

今日は凄く寒くて、ママに上着や靴下を着せられて暖かかったが、着膨れ状態...ブッブブーに両足をのせるのが、今のお気に入り！パパとママは、大笑いしてます。
This is me in the mornings. After a long nights sleep, I'm ready to go. Mommy makes sure I'm nice and warm for my morning car ride. Not looking so stylish but keeping me warm are my purple pajamas, fuzzy polka dot socks and fleece sweater. When it's break time, I always put my feet up and relax! YAY!

MOMMY'S LITTLE HELPER

マヒちゃんは洗濯物干しが朝の楽しみだけど、ママは、邪魔しないで！っと、いつも怒るけど、マヒちゃんはママのお手伝いをしているつもりなのにな〜。でも又、手伝うからね。
One of Mahina's favorite things to do in the mornings, is to help mommy with the laundry. She finds the basket, tips it over, and then works on spilling everything out onto the floor. She also likes to pull on the clothes as they're hanging and waiting to be taken outside. She thinks it's the funniest thing but by the look on mommy's face I'd guess otherwise.

アンスリューム&牛さん/ANTHURIUM&COW

アンスリュームが咲きました。パパとママは観葉植物が大好きで家の中には、モンステラ、ティーリーフ、パパイヤ、プルメリア、ハワイアンティーなど沢山あります。今の冬の時期は乾燥を防いでくれるので良いですよね！　　　　　　この牛さんは、マヒちゃんの出生祝いにアンティーノナからもらい、一番お気に入りのおもちゃです。パペットになっていて、手を入れて遊ぶのが大好きです。

Our anthurium shot out another flower! YAY! Mommy and daddy love these special flowers. We have a lot of other tropical plants in our house too. Monstera, Hawaiian Ti, papaya, Ti-leaf, and plumeria!
My cow puppet is like my security blanket. It was given to me by my Aunty Nona. Thank you aunty! It goes with me everywhere, especially when I go to the hospital.

マヒちゃんの成長の証/I'M GROWING!

二年半前にオーダーして作ってもらったベッドが、マヒちゃんの背が伸び、柵に足をかけたり、のけ反ったりして危なくなってきたので、パパが柵を高くしてくれました。マヒちゃが成長したんだなーと実感して、嬉しくなりました。何年後か、背が伸びたら、又パパに高くしてもらおうね。
Over 2 years ago we had this bed made for me. At the time it was the perfect size! Since then, I've grown and gotten taller and taller so daddy went to the hardware store the other day and extended the height on it. Now I'm safe again! THANKS DADDY!

MAUI BUILT

このピンクのMAUI BUILTパーカーは、パパのマウイの友達のアンティーシェリーが送ってくれました。マウイのサーフブランドでMADE IN MAUIと言う意味です。胸にはハワイ諸島がプリントされてて、とても可愛いです。　　　　オレンジ色のこの車は、マヒちゃんの足がわりで、名前はブッブブーです。ブッブブーに乗って何処にでも行けちゃいます。
Some of my favorite things. First, do you see this pink sweater I'm wearing? It's from my aunty Shary in Maui. It's a very popular surf brand called MAUI BUILT, and all the locals wear it. I always wear mine too even though I'm not a local Maui girl. Second is my orange car. I love this thing! It's basically my legs and it's how I get around the house when I'm not eating. I'm actually a really good driver.

二ヶ月前にピンクの歩行器を作ってもらいました。ポンプとボトルを付けれるので注入中でも自由に何処でも行けるようになりました。マヒちゃん、手話で愛してます！と言っていますが、いつぐらい前からかは忘れましたが、誰も教えていないのにするようになりビックリです。　　　　　みんな　LOVE YOU!!!!
About 2 months ago I had this walker made for me. It has attachments for my bottle and feeding pump so that I can move all around the house while eating. I don't have to be in my bed during the whole feeding process anymore! YAY! Thanks to everyone who has been checking my blog too. I'm getting over 100 hits everyday. 昨日お誕生日で６歳になった奏君と奏君のお母さんが、久しぶりに遊びにきてくれました。家で育てている鶏が産んだ卵と人参を持ってきてくれました。ありがとね！また、遊びにきてね。
Yesterday was Kanade's 6th birthday and he and his mommy came over to visit. It's been a long time since our mommies met. They brought us some special gifts. Natural eggs from their hens and some baby carrots from their garden. THANK YOU!

今日は、お天気が良く風も吹いてなく暖かいので、デッキに出て大好きなハンモッグに乗って日光浴をしました。ゆらゆら最高！まぶしかったからママがサングラスをかけてくれました。どう？似合う？
Today was a very beautiful day with good weather. Even though it's winter, our house gets a lot of sunshine and is actually pretty warm on our deck. Hanging out in the hammock is something I like doing all year round. I love swinging back and forth and mommy always gives me sunglasses to wear.

I got a nice New Years money gift from my favorite uncle Shinya. Uncle Shinya always comes over to the house and does rehabilitation with me too. I always get so excited when he comes over because I know he's going to do something special for me. I wish everyone could have an uncle Shinya! And if there are any single ladies out there....??? He likes surfing, cooking and can speak English too!

２年半前位に、このベットを作ってもらいました。お昼からの注入は５時間位でベットの中で過ごしています。自分で立つ事も出来なかったけど、このベットになってから、柵につかまり、立ってベットのまわりをつたい歩き出来る様になりました。最初、パパとママは凄く喜んでいたのですが、今では動き回るのでEDチューブが体にからまったりして鼻から抜けてしまうのでわと、ママは目がはなせなくて大変です。でもマヒナは、”ベットから出たいよー”と、柵に足を掛けて脱獄しそうに！パパは、近々柵を高くするつもり。カインズ行かなきゃ！

Being connected to my feeding pump has it's drawbacks. It takes a long time to eat which means I need to be kept very close to my food. About 2 and a half years ago, mommy and daddy had this bed made for me. It makes it easier to manage the distance from my pump. On the other hand, I've been able to learn how to stand up and also to walk around the bed using the rails. My balance has gotten really good recently too! So good in fact that I can now put my leg up on the railing. Oh Oh! I'm ready to make a break for the border. Better get daddy to rig up a higher rail!

私は、産まれた時から、ごっくんと飲み込む事がうまく出来ず、EDチューブで栄養を取っています。EDチューブは胃を通り越して腸まで入っているので、ニプロの機械でゆっくり入れなければならず、一日１８時間位必要です。その間は、ずーとベットの中なので、つまらないです。
Since I was born I couldn't swallow. I've been on a feeding pump and tube that enters trough my nose, bypasses my stomach and feeds my intestines. It's a slow process and I'm eating about 18 hours a day. It's a long time, but 8 of the hours I'm sleeping. The rest of the time I'm in my play space with my toys, books and mommy.

先週、マウイの伯母さん（英語ではアンティ）から、少し遅いクリスマスプレゼントが届きました。ヤッター！アンティはいつも、ハワイの美味しいお菓子などを送ってくれます。今回マヒナにはマウイのサーフブランド、MAUI BUILTの水色のTシャツです。ヤッター！早く暖かくなって、たんぽぽ組に着て行きたいです。ありがとアンティ！
My aunty from Maui sent us some goodies last week. YAY! She always sends the best cookies and chocolates for mommy and snacks for daddy. She usually sends me a t-shirt from MAUI TROPIX/MAUI BUILT, and this time she sent me a light blue one. YAY! I can't wait until spring so that I can wear it to school! Thank you Maui aunty!

クリスマスの三日前から、肺炎で入院してて先週退院してきました。入院すると寝ている時間が長いのでハゲができます。
Every time I go into the hospital for a long stay, I lose a patch of hair from laying down for so long, and also from the sheets there. This time was pretty bad as I was in hospital for a little over 2 weeks. Oh well...It'll grow back soon.

ママが可愛くなる様にヘアーバンドを付けてくれました。にあう？
Until then, I'm gonna wear some head bands and knit caps.

Mommy and daddy took me to the beach again last week. This time we went in the afternoon and it was so bright. I think I like the mornings better. Daddy put me on his surfboard and it was kinda scary at first. After a little while, I got use to it and was able to keep my balance. I can't wait until next summer!

After that, we went to the park and rode on a dragon. It was really fun. Last summer there were ducks, this year a dragon and a bicycle.

It's OFFICIAL! I LOST MY FIRST TEETH YESTERDAY! And that's not a spelling mistake. I lost 2 teeth yesterday. Last night, I put my teeth under my pillow hoping that the tooth fairy would come and leave me some money, but daddy said that "since we live in Japan, I'm not sure if the tooth fairy will come all the way from Hawai'i just to bring you a little money". I tried anyway and guess what? NO MONEY! Instead, the tooth fairy left me a new OVEN RANGE/MICROWAVE! BORING! I'm gonna try again tonight!

MY FIRST REAL HAIRCUT

Well, I finally got my first REAL haircut. Up until this point, my mommy's been cutting my hair and let me tell you, she's not very good at it. Hairstylists run in my mommy's family though. Grandma and grandpa are hairstylists and have their own shop in Niigata. Mommy's sister also cuts hair and she cut mine a while ago. But that's where the talent stops. Mommy didn't inherit a drop of that skill. Last week we went to Niigata to visit my JIJI and BABA. While we were there, BABA gave me a real haircut. It was a little short at first, but it's grown out nicely since...THANK YOU BABA! I LOVE MY HAIRCUT!

Yay! Today's my birthday! I'm 5 years old now! Yatta ze! Last Monday I had to spend the night in the hospital to get my immune system powered up. It's not so fun because my veins are hard to find, and it usually takes a couple of times for the doctors to find a good one. While I was there, mommy and daddy went on their Valentine's day date! They bought me some new clothes too! YAY! I even got a new neck pillow. Actually it was daddy's, but I stole it from him. hahaha.
